Tom Dean MBE, the three-time Olympic swimming champion, has announced that he will be joining the lineup for Strictly Come Dancing 2024. The popular BBC show will be returning this autumn for its new series, promising even more glitz, glamour, and unforgettable performances as it celebrates two decades of dance.

Tom Dean made history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by becoming the first British man in over 100 years to win a gold medal in the men’s 200m freestyle swim. He went on to win another gold medal in Tokyo and became England’s most decorated athlete at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, winning a total of seven medals. Most recently, he secured his third gold medal for Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the team 4 x 200m freestyle relay.

In a statement, Tom Dean expressed his excitement about joining Strictly Come Dancing 2024, stating that he is looking forward to trying something new, meeting new people, and showcasing his dancing skills. The news of his participation was revealed on Matt and Mollie’s Show on BBC Radio 1.

While Tom Dean is the eleventh celebrity contestant to be confirmed for the upcoming series, more celebrities will be announced in the coming weeks.
