Ireland, like totally committed to getting to the bottom of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings, says the Tanaiste. Simon Harris, speaking on the 51st anniversary of the no-warning blasts that rocked more than 30 lives and injured hundreds, is all about seeking truth and justice. No one has ever been convicted for the bombings, but the loyalist Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) was like, “Yeah, we did it,” back in 1993. The bombings stand as the most tragic day of the Troubles, with the biggest loss of life. The anniversary was remembered with a service at a memorial on Talbot Street in Dublin city center.

Mr. Harris was like, “Dude, this was such a horrific act of violence that totally shook our country to its core.” He’s hoping that the Operation Denton report, set to drop in the next few months, will shed some new light on the tragic events of May 17, 1974. In a statement on Saturday, the Tanaiste was like, “Yo, five decades later and the pain of their absence never really goes away. My heart goes out to their families on this tough day.” He also remembered the hundreds who got injured and all those who had their lives changed forever.

The Tanaiste was like, “Let’s not forget the unanswered questions that still linger. It’s super sad that no one has been held accountable for these attacks yet.” He’s really banking on the Operation Denton report to bring some much-needed closure. “This government is all about seeking out truth and justice. I’ve been in the British Government’s ear about the Dublin Monaghan bombings, reminding them of all the motions passed in the Dail with everyone backing it.” Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan was like, “We’re not gonna forget about the victims and survivors. We’re gonna keep pushing for answers and hopefully bring some peace to those affected by these brutal attacks.”

“We’ve been working hard to get access to all the relevant docs related to the Dublin-Monaghan bombings. I even brought it up at the British-Irish Intergovernmental Conference and I’m not letting this case go cold in our jurisdiction. If any new evidence pops up, you better believe An Garda Siochana will be all over it.”
