The ITM Irish Stallion Trail for 2025 has been confirmed to take place on January 10th and 11th next year. This event provides a unique opportunity for breeders, racing professionals, and fans to visit over 30 stallion farms in Ireland. Registration for the event is free, and visitors can choose which studs they would like to visit by registering on the ITM website. Stallion farms interested in participating can contact Alex Cairns for more information.
In addition to the Stallion Trail, the Irish Equine Veterinary Association will be hosting a networking evening at the Lyrath Estate in Co Kilkenny on November 28th. Sponsored by Connolly’s Red Mills and supported by industry stakeholders, the event will feature speakers such as IEVA president Sabrina Barnwell, Nicole Groyer of Connolly’s Red Mills, Niamh Lewis from UCD’s School of Veterinary Medicine, David Beehan from the Department of Agriculture, Jennie Henderson of Ballylinch Stud, and Alan Creighton of the Irish Equine Centre. Tickets for this event are priced at €20 and can be purchased from irisheva.ie.
Furthermore, Tipperary will be hosting an additional jumps fixture on November 22nd, with entries closing on Monday at noon. This comes after Thurles had to cancel a third consecutive meeting due to unsuitable ground conditions.
The Irish European Breeders Fund will be sponsoring all seven races at Navan on December 15th, with a total prize money of €145,000 up for grabs. The card has been designed in collaboration with Horse Racing Ireland, with a focus on mid-division rated horses to boost prize money in that category. The day will feature six handicaps, each valued at €20,000, as well as a €25,000 listed winners’ bumper race. Be sure to mark your calendars for these exciting upcoming events in the racing and bloodstock world!
