Improved Bus Service on C1 Route to Benefit Commuters
Emer Higgins, Minister and local TD, recently announced that the National Transport Authority (NTA) has confirmed the addition of four extra buses on the busy C1 route, starting this week. This decision comes after ongoing discussions aimed at improving transportation services for commuters traveling between Lucan/Adamstown and the city center.
Relief for Residents
Higgins expressed her delight at the introduction of these new buses, stating that they will provide immediate relief for the many residents who rely on the C1 route for their daily commute. The increased bus service is expected to ease congestion and improve the overall travel experience for passengers.
“I’m delighted to see these new buses roll out this week. I know it will provide immediate relief for the many residents who rely on the C1 route,” said Higgins. “I’ve been working really closely with the NTA to secure these services, and I will continue to advocate for further improvements, including additional C2 buses and increased services on Saturdays, particularly when large events take place in the city center.”
Enhanced Schedule
The new bus service includes two additional morning buses departing from Adamstown at 7:25 am and 7:33 am, supplementing the existing eight buses operating between 7:00 am and 8:00 am. This adjustment aims to alleviate overcrowding during peak hours, providing commuters with more options for their daily travel.
In addition, two afternoon services have been introduced, departing from Sandymount at 2:15 pm and 4:55 pm. These buses will stop at Pearse Station at approximately 2:35 pm and 5:10 pm, arriving in Adamstown at approximately 3:45 pm and 6:20 pm, respectively. The enhanced schedule is designed to cater to the varying needs of passengers throughout the day.
Future Improvements
The NTA has expressed its commitment to reviewing the C2 route next, with more details to be provided once buses and drivers are secured. This ongoing effort to enhance public transportation services demonstrates a proactive approach to meeting the evolving needs of commuters in the region.
Overall, the increased bus service on the C1 route is a positive development that is set to benefit a large number of residents and commuters. With improved schedules and additional buses, passengers can look forward to a more efficient and comfortable travel experience on their daily journeys.
