Late-night flight gets detoured to Dublin Airport because of medical emergency
So, get this: a flight from Madrid to Reykjavik had to make a pit stop in Dublin because one of the passengers had a medical emergency. Yeah, it was Play Airlines flight OG665 on that fateful Monday, May 19, 2025. The plane was supposed to go straight to Reykjavik, but nope, had to go to Dublin instead.
When the flight landed in Dublin, an ambulance was there waiting at the airport. The crew was probably like, “Well, this is not how we expected our night to go.” Anyway, the plane stayed overnight in Dublin, and a new crew had to take over because the original crew had worked too many hours. The next day, on Tuesday, May 20, the aircraft finally made its way to Iceland with the fresh crew on board.
Play spokesperson spilled the beans, saying, “Our flight from Madrid to Iceland had a little detour to Dublin because of a passenger’s medical emergency. It threw off our crew’s schedule, so we had to switch them out and spend the night in Dublin. The plane eventually made it to Iceland the next day with a new crew in charge.”
