Several community projects in Fingal are celebrating a significant boost after receiving over €630,000 in funding from the Community Recognition Fund. This fund, totaling €16.5 million for 185 projects nationwide, aims to support various initiatives that benefit local communities.

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh, expressed his gratitude for the allocation, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the region. The funding will enable projects to progress and provide essential services such as transport, community spaces, and sporting facilities.

The eight successful projects in Fingal that will receive funding include a range of developments:

– Castleknock Community Centre Association CLG will use €100,000 for the demolition and rebuilding of the old credit union building.
– Accessible Transport Project CLG- Locallink Louth Meath Fingal is set to purchase a community bus with €100,000 in funding.
– O’Dwyers GAA Club will enhance wheelchair access and develop facilities with a budget of €100,000.
– Hartstown Community Centre will install new windows with €102,010 in funding.
– Foroige – Coastal North Dublin will acquire a mini-bus with €80,000.
– Trinity Gaels GAA Club plans to enhance their pitch with drainage and surfacing using €50,007.
– Phoenix Football Club will develop equipment storage facilities with €50,000.
– Skerries Harps GAA and Camogie Club will have LED floodlighting installed with €50,001.

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, highlighted the importance of this investment in improving sports facilities, community centers, walking trails, parks, and playgrounds.
