With Christmas just around the corner, the highly-anticipated Winterval festival in Waterford is gearing up for an exciting weekend ahead. This year, festival organizers have decided to extend the opening hours, offering visitors an extended festive experience leading up to Christmas Eve.
Festive Fun for All Ages
Starting on Wednesday, December 18, the festival will continue to delight attendees until the evening of December 23, 2024. Winterval, known as the European City of Christmas for 2024, will offer more than 50 events spread across various locations in the city.
Last weekend, the festival kicked off with a bang as real-life Transformers made an appearance at Winterval, wowing crowds with a Monster Truck Stunt show. The excitement doesn’t stop there, as Daredevil Entertainment will be keeping the adrenaline pumping with the ‘Winterval Adrenalin Stunt Show’ featuring jaw-dropping stunts from Planet Big Foot. Festival-goers can catch the show every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm at Park Road, beside the People’s Park.
Comedy and Entertainment Galore
For those looking for a more relaxed experience, a visit to Garter Lane to watch the ‘Trash Test Dummies’ is a must. Presented by the award-winning Dummies Corp., this slapstick children’s comedy promises to entertain audiences of all ages. Prepare to be amazed and delighted by the Trash Test Dummies as they bring their unique brand of humor to Winterval.
The after-dark programme at ‘The Winterval Big Top Live’ will also continue to dazzle attendees with a lineup of events, artists, and performances throughout the festival. From Gavin James to The Dublin Gospel Choir, there’s something for everyone to enjoy under Ireland’s Largest Ever Big Top.
